Email settings (SMTP)

Updated 07.10.2026

AdBooks sends invoices, quotes and signing codes from your email. In this guide, you set up the email settings (SMTP) and check that they work.

Before you start

  • Have your email account details ready: SMTP server, port, email address and password. If your email uses two-factor protection, create an app password with your email provider.

1. Opening the email settings

  1. Click the pencil next to your company.
  2. Open the Invoicing tab.
  3. Click Email settings (SMTP).
  4. AdBooks sends invoices, estimates and e-signature codes through this email.

2. Password type

  1. Choose the password type. If your email uses two-factor authentication, you need an app password.

3. Server and account

  1. Enter the SMTP server. For Gmail and Outlook, click the ready-made button below.
  2. Choose the port. Usually it's 587 (TLS) or 465 (SSL).
  3. Enter the email address you send from.
  4. Enter the password for that email.
  5. Enter the name recipients see as the sender.

4. Test email and check

  1. Click Send Test Email. If the test succeeds, the settings are saved right away.
  2. Until the test succeeds, it says Not Verified here. After a successful test, it says Verified.

Tips

  • Without correct email settings, your customer cannot receive the email with the e-signature code.
